What is watchmelater.com?
Watchmelater.com is a website and firefox extension that allow you to watch web based video from sites
like youtube, myspace, revver etc, when it suits you, rather than when you stumble accross them.
You could think of it as timeshifting for online video.
As you browse the web you will notice
small watchmelater icons under embedded videos
and next to links to videos. Click the icon if wish to
watch the video later.
A dialog will appear that allows you to enter a title
and some tags to help you locate the video later.
When you are ready to watch your videos click on the toolbar button to be taken straight to
watchmelater.com where you can view all your unwatched videos.
Why do you need it?
- You are at work and stumble accross an interesting video that is not safe for work (nsfw).
- You find a video you are interested in, but you don't have time to watch it at the moment.
- You watch a video that you think is great, and you want to tag it so you can watch it again later.
Welcome to a tour of watchmelater.com. This simple 5 minute tour will show you how
to use watchmelater.com. Use the arrows at the top of this little dialog to navigate
through the tour.
After installing the firefox extension as you browse your favourite sites you will notice little icons like this
next to embedded videos and
links to videos. This means the video is detected and can easly be added to
watchmelater.com by clicking on it.
After clicking the watchmelater icon a dialog will be displayed that allows
you to add a title (if you don't want the default one) and some tags to the
video. Click send and your done, continue browsing until you are ready to watch
your videos.
When you are ready to watch your videos head to watchmelater.com or click on the
toolbar button installed by the extension. You will be taken straight to your unwatched videos queue.
Click on the video to start watching.
Watch your video from this screen.... you can update any of the details of the video
by clicking directly on the text. The sidebar shows you the next video in your unwatched
queue to allow you to easily cycle through your unwatched videos.
